Automotive Sun Shades I Just Bought A 92' Ford Explorer That Has Gotten Some Sun Damage On Top And I Need Some Advice!!!?

I just bought a 92' Ford Explorer that has gotten some sun damage on top and I need some advice!!!? - automotive sun shades

Is the sun damage in the top of the truck and disappeared just over half of the picture is. My question is if I use the fine sandpaper and remove the rest of the top layer of paint and spray paint the top with the color of the car when I'm done.
